List One Thing You Did This Week

In an effort to put some momentum behind our GD thread, and in an effort to be here more, I thought we could have a thread listing something you've done this week. It can be anything you might think is interesting.

This week I took Abbie to the cinema to see Mockingjay Part One. I told her to go to the loo before hand so I didn't have to get up half way through and miss some of the film. She was brilliant, I let myself down after drinking a barrel of coca-cola. On my way back, I fell up the stairs in front of the everyone in the cinema. Awesome. Have a nice purple bruise on my arm and a nasty looking red fingernail now, oops!

Last night I helped one of the boys in our Boy Scout troop earn his Eagle rank. This is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America and it is earned by maybe 4% of the boys that ever join. It was really cool watching him turn from a fairly timid 11 year old to a really confident nearly 18 year old.

Banged my elbow on the edge of a door, so decided to have a look at the damage in the nearest mirror. Turned out I'd done more than just bash it as there was blood trickling down my arm.

And as I looked it dripped onto the carpet which is predictably a pale colour #bangshead

I put up the roman blinds that my wife made over the last couple of weeks.

really proud of her, it's the first time she's used a sewing machine since school (30 years ago now!!!) and they look great, she's done a fantastic job.

Both are fine, but my arm is still recovering from the effort of scrubbing the stain out of the carpet.

Good to see some activity on TFC again.

Bill - sounds like you've had a very busy week so far, and it's only Thursday! I have to admit, your post about the scout badge did make me giggle.

Eyrie, is the stain gone though? Worth an achy arm if it is

A few weeks ago we nearly had a boy break into tears during his Eagle board of review because he was so nervous. Nothing wrong with tears of joy though. Eagle is not an easy accomplishment.

Proof of middle age #1 - we have all the necessary cleaning products to sort it, so the carpet looks fine.

Proof of middle age #2 - about to spend most of my weekend working at home because of the tax return deadline at the end of this month.

    Thumbs up

Just finished the BEPS presentation so tomorrow I send it to the lady who handles logistics and review my speech with it.

Absolutely nothing exciting in my life this week at all. I have been working on sorting stuff to pack or get rid of so we can put our house up for sale. Ugh!

I went to see Queen with Adam Lambert last night, despite the weather trying to stop us.

snow causes car crash at the bottom of my road, and blocks us in
