    Drill & rough up .....

I drilled it through the neck as the material of the bottle is thicker there. It does however then present the possibility of fouling the inline hose connector in the bottle lid ....... caution

    & loaded with bio balls.

Prototype again because I have spotted both a better bottle and better fittings. I have a much better feeling about this 1.

Come on tell me what you think ..... all input welcome.

    Ok comments:

    1) - looks less "professional" that the last model
    2) - cheeper
    3) - Hozlock (r) probably make a better connector, but isn't garden hose larger diameter than the clear stuff used for external filters ?

If you are using Araldite, why not use this to fix the pipe fittings on the MKI version rather than the solvent ?
    Regards

    Malcolm

    Thanks Malc.

Yeah it don't look as good. You can however see the bubbles in the diffuser.

    It is half the price.

Within the week the mk2 of this model will be up.

I am not going for garden hose connectors at all.

Initial reason for not using araldite was incompetance. I thought my plaggy was ABS and so solvent weld would be better

Even though the wall thickness of the tube is alot less this has a much more substantial and reassuring feel to it I am confident the mk2 of this model will be a flyer.

another point. i dont think araldite is waterproof over the long term. it certainly wasnt when i tried to make something similar. dont forget, that if used with an external, it will be under a fair amount of pressure
