    Is this forum active?

Hi there, I am looking to sell/give away a few bits of aquarium gear, so came to this site at it always served me well in the past for advice etc.

Looking at the last post dates it seems as though the forum has lost it's mojo a bit. Still a great resource for looking up info in the old posts, but not the best place to sell a filter!

Is it worth posting here, or can anyone advise of the best place to try and peddle my wares?

    Thanks
    James

    welcome back james.

the board was shut down for almost a year, and has been back open for about the same time, but in that time, most of the old faces have moved on, or have left the hobby, and we have lost our google no1 status, which always generated lots of new members to replace any that leave the hobby.

as you said, the old posts are a great resource, but there are really only 5 or 6 of us who check in regularly anymore to help out with any newbies that have issues that they need help with or say hi to old members as they pass through.

I haven't joined any other fishy boards, so I'm sorry but I can't help with where you can sell your stuff, but you never know, there are still a few people reading this board looking at the stats, so somebody might be interested.

what filter is it that your looking to sell, how much are you looking for and where are you based?
The only way to go on is to go on. To say "I can do this" even when you know you can't.

Thanks for the quick reply Curly. It's a shame to hear the site closed down for a while. Back when I was first setting up my tank it was a really buzzing community. Ah well.

The filter I have is a Fluval 105, so only quite small. I have it running in a 2ft tank so it is probably a bit overpowered for my tank, but it does the job!

I have some strange notion that people might want my media, the filter, the planted bogwood, etc as it would really help kick off the cycle for a new tank, but realistically i know people won't want to put 'dirty' stuff in their new tank!

I have seen Fluval 105 going for around £30 on gumtree etc, but would be prepared to accept offers around £20. Anything else (gravel, tank lights, heater, planted bogwood) I would happily give away if I thought someone might use it.

    I am in Portsmouth.

    Thumbs up

well you have good stuff for a good price but it would cost too much to get it to Panama. However, hang around we can use the help.

as curly says, its difficult to keep a site at the top, unless someone constantly maintains it, and thats just not easy. Remember The Krib? many years ago it was the top source for info, now it just looks well out of date and doesnt get that many hits.

As for myself, i live near pmouth. But i would only be interested in a tank itself.....
